Over the past eleven months, Chicago Volunteer Doulas has undergone a shift that is taking the organization further into the commitment we've made to our mission, vision, and guiding principles. We're thrilled to introduce our new board members, each bringing unique strengths to our mission of supporting families during childbirth and postpartum. You can read each member's full bio here.


Shannon Carter, Board Chair: With over a decade in nonprofit and volunteer management, Shannon's experience in fundraising and dedication to educational, racial, and reproductive justice will be invaluable.


Cantrel ConnelAs a Doula, Community Healer, Reiki Master Teacher, and Educator, Cantrel will infuse our board with holistic healing perspectives.


Dominique WardA Chicago native, Dominique's background in social services, project management, and personal experiences in maternal health will guide our efforts in addressing inequalities.


Amanda HaithAmanda's journey from naturopathic medicine to public health reflects a deep commitment to community wellness, enriching our public health initiatives.


Rachel Williams: Rachel's focus on reproductive health, birth work, and advocacy, shaped by her own experiences, will drive our efforts in supporting diverse communities.


Christina Corrigan: With a career shift from business to reproductive justice, Christina's passion for supporting families, especially in NICU environments, aligns perfectly with our mission.
