At Chicago Volunteer Doulas, Empowering Families with Compassionate Doula Care isn’t just a phrase — it’s a practice. And we’re proud to celebrate someone who embodies that commitment from the inside out: Tea Sloan.
Tea began her journey with CVD as a doula in training. Through dedication, growth, and service, she has stepped fully into leadership as a Certified Full-Spectrum CVDoula and our Matching Coordinator.
Her path reflects what we believe deeply that when we train doulas the CVD way, we are cultivating future leaders.
As a doula, Tea is committed to ensuring families approach birth with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind. She provides steady support, practical resources, and compassionate presence so families feel informed and proud of their decisions. She believes birth is powerful and sacred — not something to fear, but something to prepare for with knowledge and trusted support.
In her role as Matching Coordinator, Tea thoughtfully connects families with doulas who align with their needs, values, and personalities. Having walked the path from trainee to certified doula to leadership, she understands firsthand the importance of culturally responsive care, strong relationships, and intentional support systems.
Beyond birth work, Tea is also a published model and creative professional who has participated in community-centered events supporting causes like the Blue Freedom Project, a Chicago-based nonprofit that raises awareness about human trafficking through creative fundraising experiences. She uses her platform to uplift advocacy and visibility for issues that matter — including birth justice and equitable access to care.
Tea’s journey is a testament to what happens when opportunity meets commitment. We are honored to have her serving families and supporting our doula community in this expanded role.
Please join us in welcoming Tea Sloan.
