Community, Connection, and a Call to Action: CVD’s World Doula Week Kickoff

There are moments when you can feel a shift happening in real time—and our World Doula Week, Doula Appreciation Social, and Cuppa for a Doula kickoff were a couple of those moments.

What started as a gathering quickly became something more: a room filled with people rooted in care, curiosity, and a commitment to birth work. (See below for the gallery)

☕ A Powerful Start to Cuppa for a Doula

The first day of our Cuppa for a Doula fundraising drive was nothing short of amazing. In case you missed it, this campaign raises funds to ensure families can access Doula support regardless of their ability to pay—while mobilizing community members to actively support and sustain birth justice work.

Doulas and Community members showed up ready to do the work! They joined us in making calls, sharing stories, and speaking to the impact of Doulas in real time. It wasn’t just about raising funds—it was about building connection and collective investment in the families we serve.

New Energy, New CVDoulas

One of the most exciting parts of the evening was the number of people stepping toward this work.

Many attendees were already trained Doulas seeking community, and/or a place to put their skills in action. Others arrived with a deep passion to support families at the start of their birth and parenthood journeys.

That combination—experience and intention—is how movements grow. We’re looking forward to welcoming the next wave of CVDoulas.
