This year, CVD is hosting a Black Maternal Health Week Chicago resource swap, because for us at Chicago Volunteer Doulas, this work is not symbolic.

It is lived work. It is a daily practice. It’s happening right now in homes, hospitals, and in community spaces across Chicago.

And we’re bringing that work directly to you.

On April 13 from 12 PM – 6 PM, we’re opening our doors for a community resource swap and connection day. This is how we build care networks in real time.

No gatekeeping. No requirements. Just community.

• Baby supplies and postpartum essentials

• Breastfeeding and safe sleep resources

• Mental health and HIV support information

• Community clinics and food access programs

• Postpartum support groups

• Direct connection to CVDoulas

🌿In Collaboration with Healing to Action

This event is held in partnership with Healing to Action, an organization working to end gender-based violence by building the leadership and collective power of communities most impacted—transforming survivors from being seen as “victims” to powerful leaders in the movement for change.

Because birth justice, bodily autonomy, and community safety are deeply connected.
