As Salaam Alaikum/ Peace be unto you! I am Mama Tati, a mother of 8 and a servant of my community where my work is rooted in holistic wellness, cultural development and community empowerment. I am a full spectrum doula and I specialize in labor support, postpartum support and grief and loss support. I started my doula journey when I was only 19, as a teen mother, I became a support person for my peers - before I knew it was called doula. From my own birthing experiences I became the support I needed, advocating for mother's from all walks of life. Finances prevented me from having a doula and I believe every birthing person should feel safe, supported and informed regardless of income.
I am a member of the Nation of Islam, a student of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under leadership and guidance of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. MGT/GCC means Muslim Girl Training & General Civilization Class. This was the name given to the Training of women and girls in North America–how to keep house, how to rear their children, how to take care of their husbands, sew, cook and, in general, how to act at home and abroad.
